Getting into the LHE program: Competitiveness, expectations and what it takes to pass

LHE program

Starting a career in the long-term care industry can be as fast and accessible as completing a nursing assistant training program and earning a CNA license. Understanding how competitive a free job training program like Lynden Healthcare Education is and what standards apply can help you plan your path.

LHE’s nursing assistant certification program is highly competitive. Space is limited to a maximum of 10 students per session. When enrollment is open, an application appears on the Enroll page and disappears once enrollment closes. You can opt in to receive email notifications when enrollment opens so you can act quickly. Sign up for email alerts by filling out a form at the bottom of the Enroll page.

LHE’s application includes questions like “How will you use your nursing assistant certificate after completing LHE’s training program?” Your answer to all questions on the application form will be reviewed by LHE’s enrollment coordinator and program managers. Make sure to provide honest, thoughtful answers.

Once enrolled in the CNA program, you must meet specific academic standards. To meet the standard, you must achieve a passing score of 80% or higher. Students can retake one test if needed, but failing two tests will result in removal from the class. Those students must re-enroll in the program later.

Meeting the standard involves more than test scores or grades. Long-term care CNA programs like LHE’s require practical application. Attendance, professionalism and the ability to apply knowledge are evaluated. LHE’s program values time management, teamwork and communication skills.

Admission into LHE’s CNA certification program and earning your CNA license requires determination, hard work and focus. Knowing how competitive the program is and understanding passing standards can help applicants succeed and plan for future roles in long-term care.
