From graduate to employee: How Lynden Healthcare Education helps students start their CNA careers

Lynden Healthcare Education

Starting a healthcare career doesn’t have to take years or cost thousands of dollars. For many Whatcom County residents, it begins at Lynden Healthcare Education, where students train to work as certified nursing assistants in the long-term care industry. The free program is designed to build skills, confidence and connections that last well beyond graduation.

From the first day of class, students receive a balance of classroom instruction and hands-on experience that mirrors what they’ll encounter in long-term care settings. They learn vital skills such as infection control, resident communication and daily care routines under the guidance of instructor Dianne Anderson, LPN. With small class sizes capped at 10 students, each person receives personalized attention and support every step of the way.

That type of support doesn’t end when students complete the course. LHE representatives help students prepare for interviews, understand what local employers are looking for and transition smoothly into the workplace.

Lynden Healthcare Education has a close relationship with Christian Health Care Center in Lynden, where students complete their clinical training. Many graduates are hired there after earning their certification, helping to fill ongoing staffing needs and strengthen the region’s long-term care workforce.

Graduates become part of a growing network of CNAs who make a difference in the lives of older adults every day. Whether they choose to remain in long-term care or pursue additional nursing education, they leave the program equipped to succeed and inspired to serve.

For anyone ready to take the first step toward a stable and rewarding healthcare career, Lynden Healthcare Education offers the training, mentorship and support to make it possible.
